The Zichys built many castles in Bihor, one from Poiana Florilor was rised in a hunting house place which burnt. Well-planned construction began with barren land's afforestation before lifting the castle with two levels on the highest point of the mountain.

Count Zichy Jenő Asia's explorer built this hunting castle between 1891 - 1893. In 1928 castle was sold to La Roche & Darvas company, specialized in woodworking. After nationalization became hotel, restaurant and ended in communist property: each took what he wanted and what he could, the floor used as firewood.

After the events in 1998 La Roche & Darvas company and an american foundation wanted the castle but was assigned to orthodox church which introduced electricity and began reabilitation works. In Zichy castle's yard was made a wooden church in XVIII century brought from Lugașu de Jos. The transport with oxen lasted one year. Is not recomanded to visit the castle by car during rainy time or in winter.
