The Cave of the WindRomânia Drumuri > E60/DN1 > Suncuiuş The entrance of the cave is from the clearing of Suncuiusi. Seeing the concreted entrance a nescient can neither imagine what does it hide behind the hole from what a strong wind blows? Its name fits it. At the cave's entrance there is a wind sometimes of 50 km/h. It was discovered in 1957 by Béla Bagaméri, the founder of the Cluj Napoca Amateur Caving Club, who still studies and administrates the cave. It develops 4 stories: the inferior, what is crossed by an underground stream and 3 fossil superposed levels, connected by shafts. In the first part of the inferior corridor there are reach concreted sections. From here we could fill whole pages with the cave's content. It is not surprising its length is approx. 50 km and on a lenght like this we can find all the possible formations of a cave...but the unique ones as well, that you look for it without a result at another place. So we better let you to look at these pictures made by Romanian and Hungarian cavers who have made a real expedition in the cave. You may consider yourself lucky of you manage to get into the longest cave of Romania, the Winds Cave.
