The oldest descriptions about the Greco-Catholics wooden church are since 1825 from Bishop Samuil Vulcan's pen. At that time the church built in 1769 was very damaged. The bishop promised that he would support the construction of a new church.

The new church was sacred in 1869. In 1948 all the church's goods were taken by the communist regime and were given to be used by the Orthodox Church. After 1990 the church and all the goods were regained but the church's state needs urgent reparations.
