Brașov, Palace of Justice

In 1900 Georg von Weer issued a request on behalf of the Royal Court to the citizens of Brasov to grant a 9450 square meter area for the construction of the Palace of Justice. The request was accepted, a representative sum was paid for the area, but it was agreed that all the buildings that are already there or are going to be built on this ground need to be of public domain. In the end a prison and a workshop for the prisoners also came into existence besides the Palace of Justice. The construction was completed in 1902 and resulted in a beautiful eclectic palace. Today it houses the county hall, the county council and a number of other institutions.
